Give yourself a break in the soup with powerful features to enhance your IFR flying workflow! View your position directly on geo-referenced procedure plates and taxi charts and overlay them on the map for a fully integrated view. View weather and hazards on the moving map view and reference approach information more easily.

Plates on Maps seamlessly integrates with ForeFlight’s Procedure Advisor, allowing you to quickly find the appropriate minimum for an approach procedure and display it as part of your route to supplement the plate and reduce the risk of errors.

Immersive 3D Flight Planning

ForeFlight offers a range of 3D features that enable you to prepare for your flights in advance or analyze them after you've touched down. Weather in 3D Preview

Enable U.S. or Global Icing and Turbulence layers using the new layer selector in 3D Preview to display forecast weather along your route. 3D View depicts forecast weather as floating colored blocks that use the same color scale to represent forecast severity as the overhead map and Profile View.

Hold Advisor

Easily insert a holding pattern anywhere in your route with flexible parameters and automatic pattern entry selection. You can set up a new enroute holding pattern in a number of different ways: from Procedure Advisor, from the options menu after tapping any waypoint bubble within the FPL Editor, and by tapping directly on any waypoint on the map to find the new "Hold" button in the popup header.

Built-in Detailed Aircraft Profiles

Detailed aircraft performance profiles are key to ForeFlight’s advanced flight planning capabilities and our highly-accurate flight time and fuel burn calculations. The first thing you should do now that you have started your Performance trial is set up your aircraft to use the built-in performance profiles. You only have to do it once, and it takes under one minute.

Profile View & Corridor

Easily locate hazards near your route with both an interactive side-on view and its associated corridor on the map revealing the highest peaks and obstacles along each leg. Access Profile View by tapping FPL on Maps view to open the Route Editor, select Profile, and tap the settings icon on the bottom edge of the Profile view drawer.

ForeFlight’s Synthetic Vision uses Jeppesen’s global high-resolution terrain and obstacle data sets, designed for use in certified panel-mounted avionics. View an interactive 3D display of terrain, obstacles, runways, and nearby ADS-B traffic targets.

Hazard Advisor

Experience an extra layer of safety with hazardous terrain and obstacles highlighted directly on the overhead map. ForeFlight's Hazard Advisor will automatically use your current altitude when the user-set groundspeed is exceeded to identify hazardous terrain and obstacles, with an adjustable altitude slider to quickly plot a safe route through heavy terrain.

Recommended Route

Save time and receive the highest likelihood of “cleared as filed” with ForeFlight's Recommended Route feature. By using current and forecast wind and temperature data, altitude, and your specific aircraft performance constraints, ForeFlight’s Graphical Route Advisor makes it quick and easy to generate a Recommended Route, file the route, and proceed with your flight as quickly as possible.
