Dispatch Feature Releases

For complete details on Dispatch's features and functionality, refer to the Dispatch Guide.

August 2021

  • Multiple Climb & Descent ForeFlight Performance Profiles
Several dozen popular jet models from Bombardier, Gulfstream, Embraer, and more now support multiple manufacturer-sourced climb and descent performance profiles that you can select on a per-flight basis, just like you already can with cruise profiles.
  • Dispatcher Notes in Navlog
Flight planners can now provide pilots with custom notes containing relevant flight information via the Navlog. The "Dispatcher Notes" field in the ATC Data and in the Flight Release confirmation window supports up to 5000 characters that will be automatically included in the Navlog sent to crew members when the flight is released.

  • Per-Flight Navlog Selection
Rather than enforcing the same Navlog template for every flight on your account, Dispatch now allows flight planners to manually select any Navlog template - either Standard, International, or a custom-built template - while editing a flight.
  • New Operational Rules
Flight Attachment: Upload files that will be automatically attached to flights that meet the specified conditions. Supported file types include PDF, TIFF, TIF, JPG, JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, BMPF, TXT, DOC, DOCX, XLSX, XLS, PPTX, PPT, CSV, Pages, Key, and Numbers. File attachments are limited to 25MB or less.
Saved Partial Route: Allows a partial route to be automatically included in the Route Builder for flights that meet the specified conditions.

  • Share Flights with any ForeFlight Pilot
When adding a pilot outside of your current organization, the release email will now contain a sharing-invitation link. ForeFlight users outside of the organization can click and accept this link, and the flight and associated aircraft will appear on their account in the Flights view.

April 2021

  • Detailed Flight History
The Flight History feature now provides far more detail about what specific changes were made to a flight plan by anyone on your account. Click "Details" to the right of each flight event to see the full list of changes made.
  • Auto Routing
Dispatch's automation capabilities take another step forward with the new Auto Route Settings section in the Automation Settings tab. When enabled, Dispatch will automatically assign an optimized route to new flights that do not yet have a route. An additional setting allows you to define how many hours prior to ETD a route should be generated and assigned to a given flight plan.
  • Operational Rule: Alternate Routing Mode
Specify a particular alternate routing mode with or without specifying a particular alternate airport to force all flight plans that satisfy the operational rule's conditions to adopt that alternate routing mode. Selecting Manual allows you to define the cruise altitude and route to alternate as well.
  • Runway Length Unit Setting
Determine what unit is used to display the runway length: Feet or Meters. Available in Planning Settings under the Units/Time Settings at the top of the list.
  • Deep Links in Release Emails
Release emails delivered to assigned crew members now include an iOS "deep link" to open the flight plan directly in ForeFlight if it is installed on the device and the user is signed in.
  • Organization Email Settings
Operators who wish to use a single centrally-managed email account to monitor and respond to any flight plan activity by anyone on the account can now do so using the two settings in the Email section of the Planning Settings page. Specify the central email address in the Organization Email field to set it as the reply-all address for all emails sent from Dispatch, and set the "Use Organization email as Flight Watcher" setting to ON to copy that email address on every email.
  • Runway Analysis EOPs on Mini-Map
While configuring the Takeoff settings in a flight's Runway Analysis tab, click the Map button below each Engine Out Procedure dropdown to view the selected EOP's ground track on a floating mini-map. Only the Straight Out and RNAV EOPs are supported for displaying on the map; Jeppesen EOPs cannot be displayed.
  • Australian Reserve Fuel Policies
Dispatch now supports CASA RPT and non-RPT reserve fuel policies in a flight's Reserve Policy dropdown. Both policies expose fields for Holding Time, Holding Altitude, Contingency Policy, and Contingency percentage.

  • Runway Analysis Support
Dispatch now supports the new Runway Analysis feature for supported jet aircraft that you have purchased a license for. Click the Runway Analysis tab between the Flight and ATC Data tabs to configure the Runway Analysis calculation for takeoff, landing, and alternate landing.
  • Improved Operational Rules Interface
The user interface for adding and editing Operational Rules in Dispatch now more clearly defines the available parameters and logical operations, and provides a plain-language preview of the rule for added clarity.
  • Preview Features & Turbulence Avoidance
Enable cutting-edge new features prior to their general release by enabling the Preview Features setting at the bottom of the Planning Settings page. Preview features are clearly marked with a red "Preview" label. The first Preview Feature, Turbulence Avoidance, is a new option in the Route Builder that causes Dispatch to attempt to avoid either moderate and severe or only severe turbulence as it generates the Recommended Route.
  • "EUR/PROTECTED" Flight Plan Filing
For flights that require enhanced security by restricting who can view the flight plan's details, a EUR/PROTECTED checkbox is now available under Other Information on the ATC Data tab.

  • Specific Load
Dial in Dispatch’s time and fuel burn calculations even further with Specific Load planning that offers finer control over crew and passenger weights. While Simple mode limits you to a single average weight to be multiplied by the number of people on board, Specific mode breaks out six types of people – Pilots, Cabin Attendants, Males, Females, Children, and Infants – each with their own customizable average weight. Adjust the default average weights in Settings. Learn more here
  • Custom Airports
Dispatch allows you to create new user airports and manage them from the Flights or Settings pages. Every custom airport is defined simply by a unique four-letter identifier, a name, and a set of lat/long coordinates. When you file a flight plan to or from a custom airport, Dispatch automatically provides the airport's coordinates and name in the proper fields of the ICAO filing form, allowing you to file the flight plan as easily as you would with known airports. Learn more here
