AUSTIN, TX, July 14, 2026 — For years, pilots have relied on ForeFlight throughout every phase of flight—from planning at home to navigating in the air. Today, uAvionix and Jeppesen ForeFlight are expanding that experience with Sentry SkyPlay, a connected avionics and mobile device ecosystem that brings the familiar ForeFlight experience to the panel while preserving the flexibility pilots value on their iPad. Together, the two companies are creating a more connected cockpit experience, with the ForeFlight user experience and familiar task workflows available wherever pilots need them most.
The result is a more seamless and unified experience that is consistent from the start of flight planning, through the flight and back on the ground to debrief. This means better usability of panel avionics, a reduced learning curve with new devices/aircraft and more rapid innovation in the panel.
ForeFlight, Expanded Across the Cockpit
At the center of the launch is uAvionix’s Sentry SkyPlay Mini, a sunlight-readable, knob-controlled 3-inch display that runs the ForeFlight app natively and installs in a standard instrument opening. Developed in close collaboration with Jeppesen ForeFlight, the display extends familiar ForeFlight maps, data, and workflows into the panel while maintaining the seamless experience pilots already trust.
Rather than replacing ForeFlight on your mobile devices, Sentry SkyPlay Mini complements it. Pilots can choose the interaction method that best fits the moment—using the flexibility of their mobile device during planning and enroute operations while benefiting from dedicated panel controls when conditions make touch interaction less practical.
Because the ForeFlight experience is extended to the avionics display, pilots gain an additional way to access the information and workflows they need directly from the panel.
One ForeFlight Experience
Plan a flight at home using ForeFlight’s market-leading flight planning tools powered by Jeppesen data, then step into the aircraft with confidence that information remains synchronized across devices. Routes, charts, weather, and other operational information transfer seamlessly between ForeFlight on the mobile device and Sentry SkyPlay Mini, creating a connected experience from preflight through shutdown.
A dedicated rotary knob and tactile controls provide an additional way to interact with ForeFlight information and modify the active flight plan, giving pilots flexibility to choose the interface that works best for the conditions at hand.
A New Category of Connected Display
Every instrument-rated pilot is familiar with the six-pack—the six traditional flight instruments that formed the foundation of generations of aircraft panels. Sentry SkyPlay Mini introduces a new category of connected cockpit display, providing dedicated access to ForeFlight information in a compact form factor while complementing existing avionics and flight instruments.
The next generation of cockpit connectivity has historically required significant investment and extensive panel modifications. Sentry SkyPlay Mini changes that equation. Engineered for rapid installation with minimal aircraft disruption, it brings a connected ForeFlight experience to legacy singles, Light Sport aircraft, and owners seeking a practical path to enhanced cockpit capability without a full panel redesign.
A Vision for the Cockpit of the Future
Sentry SkyPlay is an ecosystem of devices, not a single product. The long-term vision shared by uAvionix and Jeppesen ForeFlight is a suite of aviation applications running on certified panel displays, anchored in the ForeFlight user experience, with certified flight functions protected at all times. Sentry SkyPlay-enabled cockpits gain capability over time through software enhancements rather than hardware replacements, and the Sentry SkyPlay family is designed to expand into larger form factors and other areas of functionality in the coming years.
See Sentry SkyPlay Mini at Oshkosh
Sentry SkyPlay Mini will be on display and operating live throughout EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2026, July 20–26, at Wittman Regional Airport. Pilots can experience the connected cockpit firsthand at the uAvionix booth [3045-3047] and the Jeppesen ForeFlight booth [443-445].
The timing is personal as well as strategic. Opening day of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, July 20, also marks the 64th birthday of uAvionix founder Paul Beard, who started the company with a mission to bring modern, affordable avionics within reach of the pilots flying today's general aviation fleet.
Availability
Sentry SkyPlay Mini will be demoed at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2026 with the ability to purchase the Sentry SkyPlay Mini later this year. Availability of additional Sentry SkyPlay form factors will be announced at a later date.
