Tim Schuetze
Tim is a software company executive who loves to fly planes on the side. He is instrument rated and enjoys cross country flying to family events.
After a B. S. in Computer Science from Texas A&M and some early engineering roles, Tim took on product, services, and support leadership roles for companies like IBM and CA Technologies prior to joining ForeFlight.
Henrik Hansen
Henrik has been building flight planning software for more than a decade. In 2012 he co-founded AviationCloud which was acquired by ForeFlight in 2016. He likes building products that efficiently and intuitively solves challenging problems and makes flight planning faster and easier for everyone.
Prior to ForeFlight, Henrik led the engineering team at a European Aviation Software Company. He holds a M.Sc in Software Engineering from the University of Southern Denmark.
Kevin Sutterfield
Kevin is an experienced sales executive having led business development, sales, services, and support teams at companies ranging from early stage startups to the Fortune 50. After a B. S. from the US Air Force Academy, Kevin had a distinguished military career with many combat assignments in the F-15 and F-22.
Kevin is passionate about aviation, technology and safety. He is active in the experimental and warbird flying communities and will happily fly any airplane people will let him touch.
Kim Lantz
Kim is an experienced C-level executive & entrepreneur in software. In 2012, he founded AviationCloud that was acquired by ForeFlight in 2016.
After a M.Sc. in Computer Science & Mathematics from SDU, and early Engineering roles in GIS & Mapping, he built a career in the Danish Energy Production & Distribution Industry. Prior to landing at ForeFlight, Kim was CEO & President of a European Aviation Software provider.
Corbin Fanning
Corbin joined ForeFlight as a software engineer immediately after graduating from Texas A&M University in 2012. He has been a jack-of-all-trades throughout his tenure, working on data processing software, backend services, web frontends, and ForeFlight Mobile.
Corbin transitioned into management halfway through his career, where he was surprised to find a role he was more passionate about than programming.
Martin Kemp
Martin has worked with ForeFlight and Jeppesen since their alliance in 2016. He leads the Integrated EFB portfolio of FliteDeck Pro X and Aviator. Since joining ForeFlight, he has obtained his private and instrument pilot ratings and is currently working on his commercial certificate.
He has a background in software development, user experience design, and product management for desktop, mobile systems, and SaaS.
Joanna Walker
Joanna joined ForeFlight in 2021 and is responsible for leading and overseeing the company's finances. Despite joining only recently, her hands-on experience with ForeFlight extends all the way back to 2012 when she obtained her private pilot license.
Prior to ForeFlight, Joanna’s experience has included various roles in FP&A, capital assets, and more across companies like Disney, J&J, and Holiday Inn Club. Her educational background includes a B.S. in Finance from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and an MBA from the University of Florida.
Jennifer Huang
Jen is an experienced Human Resources leader that has led companies through rapid HR transformation. Always a student and inspired by her late father, who was a pilot, she plans on utilizing the flight stipend benefit at ForeFlight to obtain her private pilot license.
Jen studied Communications at the University of Houston and is an SHRM Certified Professional. Before landing at ForeFlight, Jen worked for large companies such as Yokogawa and Emerson Automation Solutions.
Robin Stotz
Robin is a career military officer and aviator who specialized in maritime operations and administration. He joined ForeFlight in 2016 and leads our “fanatical” Pilot Support Teams comprising Customer Success, Customer Support, and 24/7/365 Flight Operations.
His previous flying experience includes Helicopter Air Ambulance operations, commanding U.S. Customs & Border Protection’s MQ-9 “drones”, and performing SAR and counter-drug operations as a Flight Examiner for the U.S. Coast Guard.
Matt Croydon
Matt is an operator, an aviation enthusiast since childhood, and a pilot since 2017. He has deep knowledge in software engineering, data processing and delivery, and operational capabilities.
He enjoys VFR flights to hamburgers and museums. Before joining ForeFlight in 2011, Matt wrote software and led teams at the company that created the Django web framework.
Nick Downing
Nick fell in love with software development writing Pascal in a required high school class. Since then, he's written Linux device drives, worked on Space Shuttle CPU emulators, and spent the last decade building scalable web services in AWS using Java, Python, and Ruby. Prior to joining ForeFlight, Nick worked at Bazaarvoice and started his career as a NASA contractor at Johnson Space Center. He holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Texas A&M University.
Alex Smythers
From an early age, Alex has been an aviation enthusiast and joined ForeFlight soon after becoming a pilot in 2019. He leads the company through partnership development, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic planning.
Prior to ForeFlight, Alex led professional services and customer support teams for a software company after studying Sociology and Political Science at Virginia Tech.
James Decker
James is an Air Force veteran and private pilot who has been flying since 1994 and dreaming about flying well before that. He’s happiest when telling the world the story of game changing software - and ForeFlight connects this passion with his love for aviation.
Prior to ForeFlight, James cofounded a B2B digital marketing agency, led sales and marketing for technology startups and was, among other things, a corporate strategy executive at Dell. He holds a BA from Rutgers University and an MBA from the University of Texas.
Travis Root
Travis joined ForeFlight in 2016 to lead the Military Flight Bag product after serving as an Intelligence Officer in the US Air Force. His background includes roles in Air Force Space Command and Special Operations Command, providing a wide perspective on military operations.
An instrument-rated private pilot, Travis first flew as a soaring instructor at the US Air Force Academy, where he graduated with a B.S. in Geospatial Science. He also earned an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
