ForeFlight announced support for its integrated Logbook in Europe, delivering a streamlined flight logging experience tailored to the needs of European pilots. The update implements a new Logbook Region setting with options for both U.S. and Europe, the latter of which replaces U.S.-specific field names, recency tracking, and reporting formats with European versions in accordance with flight logging standards and guidelines defined by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

“ForeFlight Logbook is designed to make logging simpler, smarter, and more useful for every pilot,” said Rachel Scarbrough, ForeFlight Product Manager. “With the new Logbook addition, we’re extending that same ease of use to European pilots, helping them save time, track progress, and keep their records in line with the standards they follow every day.”

With this new region setting, pilots can log flights, track recent experience, and generate detailed reports using tools aligned with European practices. Switching to the European Logbook automatically updates key elements throughout Logbook, including field terminology, license and qualification tracking, and progress reports for skill tests such as PPL, LAPL, and night ratings. A new FCL.050-style report template provides standardized flight time summaries for selectable date ranges, reflecting the reporting format defined in EASA Part-FCL.

Streamlined Logging and Reporting

ForeFlight Logbook simplifies postflight recordkeeping with intelligent automation and robust customization:

  • Automatic draft entries generated from Track Logs, pre-filling many fields with known flight data such as airports, route, total time, and takeoffs/landings.
  • Built-in progress reports to track advancement toward European skill tests and ratings.
  • Recency tracking templates follow common European guidelines, including those outlined by EASA, and are updated automatically by flight entries.
  • Report templates for exporting flight data in multiple formats, including standardized summaries and complete logbook exports.

Europe-Specific Enhancements

  • Updated flight entry field names reflecting European terminology such as: Co-Pilot, IFR, PICUS, etc.
  • Europe-specific aircraft category/class designations and other options, such as complex, multi-pilot, and single-pilot high-performance.
  • Support for European licenses, ratings, and qualifications.
  • Standardized reporting tools, including FCL.050 flight experience summaries and skill test progress tracking such as: Single-Engine IR(A), CPL(A), LAPL(A), and more.

The Full Power of ForeFlight Logbook

Alongside these European enhancements, pilots benefit from ForeFlight Logbook’s automated and integrated features that greatly simplify flight logging workflows:

  • Flexible report generation, endorsements, and student–instructor sharing tools.
  • Automatic backup options to receive a complete export of your Logbook each month for recordkeeping.
  • Logbook data is synchronized and fully accessible on both ForeFlight Mobile and Web for convenience and flexibility.
  • Data protection with redundant storage and robust security measures.

Availability

These updates provide pilots with an easier way to maintain detailed, standards-based records aligned with European aviation authorities such as EASA. European Logbook support is available to all ForeFlight customers on December 3rd.
