A lot has changed since we last saw you, so check out our latest features from the past year and give us some feedback to let us know how we are doing or what you'd like to see in the app.

Enhanced Weight & Balance

Create, edit, and plan with Weight & Balance profiles more easily with ForeFlight’s Enhanced W&B view. The updated W&B view has a similar layout to the older one, with fields for entering load information, the weight and CG graph, significant weight values, and detailed results. Migrate your legacy W&B profiles or easily set up new ones using our pre-built templates for hundreds of aircraft.

Weight & Balance Integrated with Flights

Additionally, ForeFlight Performance customers can now directly integrate W&B with their flight planning to simplify their preflight workflow and produce more accurate time and fuel calculations. The new integration makes it easy to respond to last-minute payload changes and access the load manifest PDF directly in the Flights view instead of switching back to the W&B tab.

Hazard Advisor Altitude Preview

Manually control Hazard Advisor’s altitude before a flight to evaluate routes through hazardous terrain and visualize your options at different altitudes. The new Altitude Slider automatically matches your planned altitude, and you can compare multiple altitudes simultaneously in Profile View just by moving the slider.

Dynamic Winds and Temperatures

View global forecast wind speed, direction, and temperatures at multiple altitudes and times using these stunning animated weather layers. Both the “Winds (Temps)” and “Winds (Speeds)” layers use colorful heat maps covering the globe to represent their primary forecast values at the selected altitude and time. Overlaid on each layer’s heat map are smoothly-flowing particle animations representing wind direction and speed, providing an intuitive view of large-scale weather patterns in relation to the layer’s primary forecast value (wind speed or temperature). Use the Time Slider to view wind forecasts in a 24+ hour period, and move the Altitude Slider to view winds from the surface up to 63,000 ft.

Both layers are included with ForeFlight Performance subscription plans.

Obstacles in 3D View

Identify potential hazards along your route and establish a mental picture of final approach with a toggleable Obstacles layer in 3D View. Every view within the 3D Suite supports obstacles: 3D Airports, 3D Anywhere, 3D Preview, and 3D Review, and ForeFlight displays three types of obstacles: buildings (shaped like rectangles), towers (shaped like cylinders), and windmills. Enabling Night Mode in 3D lights are red by default, but may also be white. 3D Preview helps you identify potentially hazardous obstacles within 1 nautical mile of your route by highlighting them with yellow or red stripes based on your current Hazard Altitude settings (1000’ vertically for yellow and 100’ vertically for red, by default).

3D View with Obstacles is included in ForeFlight Performance subscription plans.
