What Is ForeFlight Beta?
ForeFlight Beta lets select users test beta app versions before they're publicly released. Use the Beta app just like the regular ForeFlight app to help us identify issues, and easily share feedback with our team. There's no commitment — you can switch back to the regular app anytime. The only requirement is to have an active, individual ForeFlight subscription - we are not accepting ForeFlight Business accounts into the Beta team at this time.
Getting Started with
ForeFlight Beta?
If you're accepted into the ForeFlight Beta program, you'll receive an email with a link to download the app through TestFlight, Apple's official app for testing pre-release versions. Here's a quick guide to getting started with the ForeFlight Beta app:
1️⃣ Install TestFlight: Download TestFlight from the Apple App Store.
2️⃣ Accept Your Invitation: Once accepted, check your email for a message from TestFlight titled "ForeFlight has invited you to test ForeFlight Mobile" and tap View in TestFlight from your mobile device.
3️⃣ Download the Beta App: Tap Install to download the Beta app and enable Automatic Updates in the App Information section.
4️⃣ Start Using ForeFlight Beta: The Beta app will replace your current version of ForeFlight, but your data, settings, and login status will carry over.

Beta Team FAQs
Q: WILL MY DATA AND SETTINGS TRANSFER TO THE BETA APP?
A: Yes! All your ForeFlight data, settings, login status, and subscriptions will seamlessly transfer to the Beta app as soon as you install it, just as they do any time you update the ForeFlight app to a new version.
Q: HOW DO I KEEP THE BETA APP UP-TO-DATE?
A: TestFlight will notify you by email any time there’s a new Beta app version available to install, but we highly recommend enabling Automatic Updates in TestFlight to ensure you’re always on the latest version. Open the TestFlight app and select ForeFlight Beta on the left, then scroll down to the App Information section to find and enable the Automatic Updates toggle.
Q: WHY DOES TESTFLIGHT SAY MY FOREFLIGHT BETA APP WILL EXPIRE IN SOME NUMBER OF DAYS?
A: Every app in TestFlight has an automatic 90-day expiration countdown that resets every time you update the app. If you fail to update the Beta app for 90 days, then you will lose access and need to be re-invited by our team. This is why we strongly recommend enabling Automatic Updates as described in the answer above.
Q: HOW SHOULD I SHARE MY IDEAS FOR NEW FEATURES OR PRODUCT IMPROVEMENTS?
A: While we’re always eager to hear ideas and suggestions from our customers, we’re mainly interested in Beta app feedback related to app issues or feature bugs, so we request that you limit your feedback to describing issues you encounter while using the app. You can always submit product improvement ideas to our team directly via team@foreflight.com.
Q: CAN I USE THE BETA APP FOR ACTUAL FLIGHTS?
A: Absolutely! We encourage you to use the Beta app exactly as you use the normal ForeFlight app. The Beta app automatically logs performance metrics to help us identify issues.
Q: HOW DO I REVERT TO THE NORMAL FOREFLIGHT APP IF I WISH TO STOP USING THE BETA APP?
A: You can stop testing the Beta app at any time simply by deleting the app from your device (press the app icon on your Home screen for a couple seconds and select Remove App > Delete App) and re-installing the ForeFlight Mobile EFB app from the App Store. You don’t need to let us know or ask us to remove you from the Beta team if you choose to do this - you will automatically be removed from the list of testers after a few months.
