This video walks you through filing a flight plan in ForeFlight using the ICAO flight plan format, including setting up the necessary fields in your aircraft profiles and using the ICAO flight plan form.
The last video in our Getting Started series for European subscribers shows how to plan a route on the Maps view, send it to Flights to retrieve a weather briefing and printable Navlog, and file the flight plan with EUROCONTROL.
IMPORTANT: Remember that ForeFlight uses your aircraft's ICAO filing codes when checking for EUROCONTROL validation, so if you keep getting INVALID routes, check to make sure you entered the right ICAO codes for your aircraft.

ForeFlight Military Flight Bag pilots can now file flight plans using the military’s official DD-1801 filing form directly through ForeFlight, greatly simplifying their preflight workflow and reducing reliance on paper. The DD-1801 filing form is available with all ForeFlight MFB subscription plans. DoD regulations often require that all pilots departing from a military field fill out and sign a DD-1801 flight plan form and submit it to base operations by hand, fax, or email. To simplify this process, ForeFlight will automatically generate a DD-1801 PDF with your flight’s details, then allow you to digitally sign it and send it via email to base ops.
ForeFlight, in partnership with Satcom Direct, offers mobile pre-departure clearance (PDC) and digital ATIS at over 70 major U.S. airports, simplifying your departure workflow so you can get in the air faster. You can set up the service for any of your aircraft at no extra charge with a Performance Plus or Business Performance subscription plan.
This is part seven of our Performance video series, which walks through how to file a flight plan using the Flights view and review important flight alerts after filing. These features are available with ForeFlight’s Performance Plus plan, which you can purchase at foreflight.com/pricing.
